TYPES OF LICENSE

Steps to a Full Licence

Foundation

This will allow you on the air with all modes on most of the Amateur Bands with a power output up to 10 watts.

Intermediate

With this Licence you are permitted to operate all bands with a power output up to 50 watts. You must have passed the Foundation Level.

Advanced or Full Licence

This allows you full use of all the bands with a power output up to the 400 watt limit. Plus other privileges. You must have completed the Foundation and Intermediate Levels first.

July 2023 Ofcom are at present undertaking research to establish whether streaming of the licenses is beneficial to its licensees (eg the increase to 1KW for the Full license being just one suggestion)
